Part-Time Cook  & Part-Time Front of house Assistant.

Part-Time Cook

We are looking for a cook to join our team at the Garden Shop working in our busy café kitchen (hygiene rated 5 by the local authority). This is a part-time post to cover Monday, Wednesday and Friday with shifts starting at 9.30am and finishing at approximately 4.30pm (but may be later in the height of the season) to start as soon as possible. Extra hours may be required to cover holidays and absences which may include weekend working.

 

The café provides a range of hot and cold drinks, and a wide choice of meals and snacks all cooked to order. We are open 7 days a week, so some weekend working may be required.

 

An understanding of food/hygiene/allergies is essential for working in the kitchen as is relevant catering experience, but training will be available. You will be expected to complete a Level 2 Hygiene Certificate upon commencing employment.

 

You will be flexible and have experience of working in a team but also able to work without supervision if necessary. You must enjoy working with the general public as we aim to provide an inviting environment for our customers; therefore excellent customer service is essential. A tidy appearance and good communication skills are also important. Uniform will be provided and a staff discount is offered upon completion of the probationary period. Free staff parking is also available.
 

National Living Wage (or age-related National Minimum Wage) will be paid.

Part-Time Front of House Assistant

We are looking for someone to join our happy team at the Garden Shop working in our busy Café.
This a part-time Assistant position to cover Saturday and Sunday, shifts 10am to 4.30pm approx (Café). Extra hours may be required to cover holidays, seasonal busy periods and absences. This is a permanent post, and job sharing is an option.  

A basic understanding of food/hygiene is desirable for working in the Café as is Barista experience, but training will be available. You will be expected to complete a Level 2 Hygiene Certificate upon commencing employment.

The Shop retails a variety of plants, garden sundries and composts, as well as houseplants and gifts. The Café provides a range of hot and cold drinks, and a wide choice of meals and snacks.
